United Tansania e.V. is a German NGO, registered in 2021, based in Tanzania. We study both hyena species, striped hyena, classed as near threatened by the IUCN and the spotted hyena, threatened by habitat loss, climate change and conflict with humans
"In order to carry out a positive action, we must develop a positive vision"A world where animals and nature are protected for human's livelihood challenges are greater than ever. Strength, focus, dedication, and passion, will set the bar for science, conservation, and education.
Our mission is to protect biodiversity and the ecosystem while preserving the existing species and habitats. First step is to identify the threats for wildlife before sustainable conservation strategies in collaboration with local communities can be established.
'The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your drams.' - Oprah Winfrey
I faced rhinos, did game capture operations on zebras, lions, rhinos and many more in Namibia, walked with giraffes in Tanzania, experienced close encounters with elephants in Botswana, rescued hyena caught in snares in Malawi and attended Game Capture Courses in Zimbabwe, still amazed watching the African sunsets in the most beautiful colors I've ever seen while sitting around the fire under the roof of sparkling stars above me chatting with the most inspiring people ...
I reached all my life targets so far but my 30 years old dream was unrealized: To live and work in Africa with WILDLIFE.
Here I am now running United Tansania e. V., doing what I love and where I belong to, able to continue my epic journey that I had to interrupt for such a long time. Returning to my continent chosen by my heart to stay for good to work on Human-Hyena conflicts at Lake Eyasi, on the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
