Conservation medicine is the study of how humans, animals, and the environment are interconnected in relation to wildlife health, an approach also known as 'One Health'. To reduce the risk of rabies transmission from dogs to hyenas, we're implementing a rabies eradication program with the support of Mission Rabies. Due to increasing reports of hyena attacks on humans, we're investigating a potential link to rabies. To address the root causes of human-hyena conflict, United Tanzania is also conducting regular anti-snare patrols, as snares are often used in retaliation for livestock predation.
